Switzerland’s Food and The Meal Plan

Eating local dishes is a highlight of any vacation, making the trip more enjoyable and memorable.

Here’s why we created our Meal Plan:

The Meal Plan is usually part of your food budget for meals during your tour. It’s already included in your package and typically covers breakfast and some lunches or dinners.

For our Switzerland tour, we’re changing things to offer better meal options, prices, and convenience. This plan includes a mix of breakfasts, lunches, dinners, tastings, and extra treats.

Note, not all breakfasts are included on this tour because many cost about 30 CHF (roughly $37 USD), which we believe can be spent better as you experience the country.

Sometimes we will leave early for a train or activity, and meals may be provided, even on mountaintops. This is a great chance to try Switzerland’s famous local dishes for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. You can still have breakfast at your hotel, paid by you at the end of your stay, if it’s not included in our meal plan that day. The goal is to help you stretch your food budget, as costs in Switzerland are generally higher.

We allocate a per-person budget to plan diverse meals including group dinners, lunches, tastings, and snacks while traveling. Some meals feature local entertainment like concerts and storytelling, enhancing the experience. This flexible Meal Plan allows us to book the best dining spots in advance, saving time and money, and reducing stress for you.

Dining with locals is a highlight, offering authentic cuisine and ambiance. On some days, you'll have free time to eat as you please; on others, we'll share group meals at top local spots, often with full menu choices or set menus. Unlike other tours that include all meals via accommodation packages, we leave some meals open so you can choose when, where, and with whom to dine, allowing for solo or small group outings.
